Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Third edition. Volume Three only. (According to *OCLC*, only Volumes Two and Three were published in this edition.) Book designed and illustrated by Ivan Bilibin. Text preparation and commentary by A. I. Nikiforov and G. S. Vinogradova. Octavo. 614, [2] pp. Text in Russian. Decorative cloth with some wear, soil, and a tanned spine, front hinge split but sound, very good. Folk poetry collected by Gildering; the names in the title are two lakes and a river in northwestern Russia. Laid in is a bifolium (pp. [i], iv-vi) printing a lengthy description of the process of putting the text together, noting that it is recreated from Gildering's manuscripts, using the edition of 1873 as something of a touchstone. (The bifolium is signed in type by Nikiforov.) Issued as part of the series "Monuments of Russian Folk Art," edited by M. K. Azadovsky.
