Dimension extérieur 63 x 50 cm et cuvette 52 x 40 cm. Eau-forte représentant Colbert, célèbre ministre du roi Louis XIV, d?après Claude le Febvre. Ce fameux portrait de Colbert est une des deux pièces de réception à l'Académie que présenta Audran en 1709. Ici, il s?agit d?une copie réalisée sur plaque original, sûrement au XIX ème siècle. Elle est en excellent état hormis une tâche sur la gauche de l?image ainsi qu?un papier légèrement bruni autour du blason avec le serpent. Français Jean-Baptiste Colbert né le 29 août 1619 à Reims, et mort le 6 septembre 1683 à Paris est un homme d'état français. À partir de 1665, il est l'un des principaux ministre de Louis XIV, en tant que contrôleur général des finances (1665-1683), secrétaire d'Etat de la maison du roi et secrétaire d'Etat de la Marine. Nattier after Peter Paul Rubens'. Benoit Audran I, the elder (1661-1721) was a French designer, etcher and engraver from Lyon. He was the brother of Jean Audran (1667-1756). He was taught the rudiments of engraving by his father (Germain Audran), and was later placed under the care of his uncle Gerard Audran in Paris. Benoit Audran II was his nephew and the son of Jean Audran. He was appointed engraver to the king. He was active in Paris and his prints very well respected. Jean-Baptiste Nattier (1678-1726) was A French history painter from Paris. He was the eldest son of Marc Nattier the elder and Marie Courtois. Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) was a reknown Flemish Baroque painter, who ran a large studio in Antwerp.Condition: Very good, given age. Print attached to carrier. Edges reinforced on rear. Top left corner with some damage, but not nearly effecting image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
