Dr. [Harold] Benge Atlee was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1890, received his early education in Annapolis Royal, and graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1911. At the age of 21, he was the youngest graduate in the medical school's history. From 1917 onwards, Atlee was a prolific writer. Atlee wrote five medical textbooks and 58 medical articles. In addition to his professional writing, Atlee wrote short stories and novels. Black Feather is a great mystery novel which was not commercially successful. Copes in near fine dust jackets like this are rare.

Yellow cloth binding with titling in black on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 345 pages; green topstain. Bump to one corner; soiling along the top edge; offset to the endpapers. The dustjacket is compleate and unclipped. It has edgewear, a chip to the bottom of the front panel, and chips at the top corners of the flaps. In an archival plastic protector. First Edition.
