Small 8vo ; 499o pages; An important step in the history of botany: Jussieu established a complete botanical classification; "Genera Plantarum" is the largest botanical taxonomy book. His natural method that divides plants into genres and families is still in use. Vintage binding, half light-coloured calfskin, spine with fake raised bands decorated with nets and golden boxes. Book in fair condition. Slight cut on the whole spine. Browned pages with pen annotations on a few sheets (margin). Before the cover page the first flyleaf is missing. The binding is intact except for the last white sheet before the final cover which appears to be slightly detached from the body. Bilingual: French and Latin. Division of pages with Roman and Arabic numbering to distinguish the chapters of the volume. From page 1 to 24 French language - Arabic numbering. From page 1 to 76 (Introductio) Latin language - Roman numbering. From page 1 to 499 ( LES ACOTYLEDONES ) Latin language - Arabic numbering. Wormhole in upper margin oitside of print. Laid in a dealer's descriptve note at 1500$-.
