Hardcover. Condition: Good. Original brown blind-embossed binding with gilt lettering on spine. Spine ends are crushed and frayed, and tips are exposed. Boards are scuffed and spine bears a tear at the bottom rear hinge. Some colored pencil notations and spitting on endpapers. Interior pages are foxed and tanned, but otherwise clean. This is a didactic novel intended to demonstrate, through fiction, how pastoral work should be done, and taking the reader on a journey through the life of a minister. This novel was published anonymously, but is attributed to Harrison Greenough Park (1806-1876) of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Hardcover, good condition. 470 pages, octavo.
