Seller: Ebeth & Abayjay Books, Lima, OH, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Angus Macdonall (illustrator). This offering is an older copy of Miss Minerva and William Green Hill written by Frances Boyd Calhoun and illustrated by Angus Macdonall. The book was published by The Reilly & Lee Co. in, perhaps, the 1930s and is a stated Fifty-First Edition. It is not an ex-library copy and is in good + condition but has no dust jacket. The book is 5" by 7 3/8" and has 272 pages of story with larger print for an older primary student and black-and-white illustrations throughout. THEN there's another section with "The Publishers' Story of Miss Minerva and William Green Hill. "This IS a book for the collector; it's in beautiful shape for nearl 90 years of "life" though the pages ARE beginning to yellow and has the name of a previous owner on the front loose end page. (Truthfully, I'd be reluctant to give it to too many "older primary" students.) Warning . . . the Miss Minerva series is NOT politically correct. Black dialect of the times and language of the times are evident throughout. Thank you!
