Massive 480 page monograph on this artist, associated with Arte Povera, here focusing on the less frequently emphasized part of his ouevre, painting. Overall a very nice copy. Binding is solid, sturdy, and though it has a slight lean owing to the sheer weight, largely square. Interior is bright and clean, nearly as new, no markings, only blemish being a small sticker ghost on the front pastedown with a couple of small scuffs next to it. Boards are clean and firm, with little to no wear except a minor bump around the crown of the spine, not effecting binding at all. Attractive copy.

La prima personale di Pier Paolo Calzolari è del 1965 presso la Sala Studio Bentivoglio. Diviene ben presto uno dei protagonisti dell'Arte povera. Tra i materiali più usati da Calzolari troviamo il ghiaccio, la margarina, il piombo fuso, le scritte al neon, materiali metallici, organici e naturali, malleabili, con una preferenza per le relazioni che implicano il concetto di trasformazione e aggiungendo agli oggetti fisici il suono come esperienza temporale. Nel movimento dell'arte povera si distingue per la qualità poetica e letteraria dei propri lavori con azioni al limite della performance (Canto sospeso, 1973). È presente alla Biennale di Venezia degli anni 1978, 1980 e 1990. Nel 1992 partecipa a Documenta IX a Kassel. Negli anni Ottanta torna a lavori pittorici tradizionali con astrazioni di matrice metafisica ed esistenziale. Book.
