First published in French in 1544 : Le Miroir de l'ame Pecherresse. The English translation first appeared in 1548 under the title: A Godly Medytacion of the Christen Soul. A very good half leather binding. 8vo. 8.5" x 6" . [4pp.]/pp.45/ff.65 leaves of facsimilie manuscript. Brown calf over brown buckram with gilt crest to front board: "Royal Society Of Literature." Spine with 5 raised bands, blind stamp titles and simple decorated compartments. Hinges carefully strengthened. Marbled endpapers. Pink library label to verso of the front cover: "Lambeth Public Libraries.". Photogravure frontis of; "The Princess Elizabeth." by "J. Hyatt, Sc." Title-page in red & black. Clean text and sepia coloured facsimile leaves. However, most leaves have a small ink stamp: "The Tate Central Library Brixton, S.W." A well preserved copy of a scarce book.
