Édition originale.Thèse de doctorat soumise par Alfonse Corti (1822-1888) sur le système vasculaire d'un reptile.Elle est lustrée de 6 planches en couleur hors texte, représentant les veines et les artères. Corti commença ses études à Pavie où il étudia la microanatomie sous les professeurs Bartolomeo Panizza et Mario Rusconi. Il se rendit ensuite à Vienne pour perfectionner ses connaissances sous la direction de Joseph Hirtl à qui le jeune médecin dédia sa thèse. Corti contribua à la connaissance de l'anatomie de l'oreille dont témoigne l'organe de Corti, nommé d'après ce chercheur.Bel exemplaire.
