Hardcover (1851,c1851) in blue blind stamped decorative boards with gold gilt titles on spine in good condition, inner hinges are well preserved on end papers with some inner text weakness, period textbook ads on end papers that show some foxing, historical illustration of Mount Vernon on frontispiece protected by tissue, undated period signature in front, 460 pages with appendix, Preface to the American Edition prior to Table of Contents.
