Born into a Jewish family in Russia in 1829, Rubinstein was a child prodigy who gave his first public performance at age 9. He toured Europe as a teenager, captivating audiences with his virtuosic playing. As an adult, Rubinstein composed several operas, symphonies, and concertos, earning a reputation as one of the greatest musicians of his time. In addition to his musical achievements, Rubinstein was a passionate advocate for Russian culture and a generous philanthropist.
