This Volume II ONLY is a collection of critical notes, textual variants, and other scholarly material related to the writings of Saint Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyon. It includes scholarly discussions concerning the authenticity of Irenaeus's major work, "Adversus Haereses" (Against Heresies). This work is famous for its polemic against Gnosticism. Also included are writings by learned scholars that deal with the four fragments of Irenaeus's work that were unearthed and published by Christophorus Matthaeus Pfaffius in Tubingen from the recesses of the Library of Turin. This suggests the Turin Library held manuscripts containing fragments of Irenaeus's lost writings. Finally, the text also includes other selected annotations from others on Irenaeus's writings.
