Rubs and tiny bumps to the corners. 2" diagonal crease to the rear cover's lower left corner. Some dusting to the covers. The pages are tanned but are still supple. Each page contains four columns of text. Rear cover comic strip "Henry" by Carl Anderson.

Of special note is the wondrous illustrations of Sperry Armstrong, including the magnificent DJ illustration.

First UK edition. First UK edition of this adventure novel from Los Angeles writer and University of Washington graduate, Leta Zoe Adams. The book was originally published in the US by Rand McNally in 1939 and appeared in the UK in this format in 1943 as the first entry in the new Hutchinson's Girls' Adventure Series. This edition is decidedly more scarce than the U.S. edition and especially so in jacket. 8vo, 227pp. Illustrations by Armstrong Sperry. Red cloth boards lettered in yellow in illustrated jacket. Spine cocked, corners a touch worn in jacket with chipping at spine ends, rubbing along folds and edge wear. Very good.
