Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 2nd Edition. POETICAL WORKS OF THOMAS CAMPBELL EDITED BY WILLIAM MICHAEL ROSSETTI 1898? LEATHER VERY GOOD CONDITION. For your consideration, I am very pleased to be able to offer a nice edition of: The Poetical Works of Thomas Campbell , edited and with a critical memoir by William Michael Rossetti. The book has been illustrated by Thomas Seccombe and was published by Ward, Lock & Co. of London. I found no date in the book but research suggests it was published in 1898 and is a reprint, originally published as part of the Moxon s Popular Poets series. This small book (5 x 7 ¼ inches, 420 pages) is very nicely bound, with a decorative leather quarter spine with five bands, gilt titles and decorations on the spine and a marbled cover with leather corners. The page edges are also marbled. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is some edge wear, to be sure, particularly on the corners and along the gutter of the spine. Inside, there is some foxing on the early pages but this does not seem to get into the interior of the book. The binding is cracked and there may be a page missing just ahead of the half-title although it was probably a once blank page. The interior pages and plates are very lightly age-toned, mostly around the margins of the pages and with just the most occasional slight soiling. The hinges are cracked, after the endpapers but the binding still feels tight and sound. This book is not ex-library.
