Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A Very Good+ copy of the March 29, 1951, playbill of the original cast production, for the week beginning January 28, 1952, starring Gertrude Lawrence. This was her final show before passing away as a result of cancer 18 months later. The surprise stand-out in the original cast was…a powerful, young Yul Brynner, who got the part because Rex Harrison, the producers' first choice, was unavailable. Brynner made this play (and namesake film) his trademark work through many revivals until his untimely death--which followed a brief period as a "quit smoking" television pitchman after his diagnosis of lung cancer.
