1st printing of 1st English edition. The search for a passage from Europe to the Far East through the Canadian arctic has intrigued explorers since the 16th century. The feat was finally accomplished by Roald Amundsen in 1906 and the author repeated it in 1977. Fine hard cover book in fine dust jacket.
