The National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC) is a political organization founded in 1968, known for its promotion of a 'socialist re-industrialization' of the economy, combined with taxes on what it viewed as wasteful and parasitic investment.

Condition: Fair. Acceptable condition. (US history, pennsylvania, PA, political crimes, noam chomsky) A reading only copy. Boards/spine/hinges may be broken, detached, or missing. All pages of text are present, but they may include extensive notes/highlighting, be heavily stained, or detached. May be missing non-text pages (e.g. end pages, half title, title, frontispiece.).

Four-page brochure, 8.5x11 inches, very good. Lists demands "In opposition to the bankrupt policies of the Republican and Democratic parties and their candidates.".

Newspaper. [4p]., folded tabloid, large map inside, paper toned, else in very good condition. Articles on the newspaper's strategy to organize the masses against Rockefeller- the perpetrator of race riots, gang wars, fuel shortages, and starvation.

Newsletter. 16p., folded tabloid, (16.25x11.25 inches), paper toned, a few small tears along the edges, minor fraying, folded as issued, else good condition. Headline is a call to "Boycott Schools in East Harlem" and includes an article on the "collapse of CP after WWII.

8.5x11 inch sheet printed both sides, horizontal fold crease, otherwise very good. Polemic against John Lindsay. Mentions a conference on the economic crisis, "The coming depression - socialism or fascism?" Also included is an 8.5x14 inch flyer promoting the conference.

Also, other typical NCLC hysteria such as articles: "Exclusive! Social Workers Will Administer New Nazi Slave System, Like It or Not" and "British Left: Corporatism If We're Lucky, Fascism If Not".

On various Mop Up actions. The other main article details NCLC fights with CPUSA and YWLL at Temple University and elsewhere in Philadelphia. Operation Mop-Up was an attempt by NCLC to physically attack the CPUSA and later the SWP. . It also was why your humble cataloger at the time took a class in the non-gardening uses of thick rubber hose.

Single 8.5x11 inch sheet, mimeographed both sides, toned around edges. Was laid into a special 4-page issue of New Solidarity, which is also included. Argues that the Symbionese Liberation Army is a CIA front, and because it is in the interest of the CIA to have Hearst killed, the government link must be exposed immediately lest the worst happen.

Three 8.5x14 inch sheets stapled at upper left; photocopy of the New York original with additional notes of a San Francisco meeting to discuss the issue. Argues that the Symbionese Liberation Army is a CIA front, linking it to the Zebra murders (killings of white San Franciscans by a black cult).

Magazine. 252 issues of 8p. folded broadsheets, 22.75x15 inches, fragmentary collection spread out mostly in the early 1980s when it was pubished every 3 days. With some fraying at edges, some browned more than others, some small chipping and closed tears as expected with 40 year old newspapers. Some are folded in quarters, others simply in half. Address labels afixed to front of several dozen issues. Yellow post-it notes on several dozen issues as well highlighting subjects inside the issue. 1976 marks the year that NCLC abandoned Marxism, calling Marx an agent of the British Crown, and adopted right wing Hamiltonian economics and eventually become backers of Ronald Reagan's presidency, reflected in these pages.

Leaflet by NCLC aimed at the Socialist Workers Party for defending Rasheed Story of the CPUSA's candidate for mayor of NYC in 1973 and threatening the SWP "But should you repeat, as goons for the CP, we will put all of you in the hospital; we will deal with you as we are dealing with the Communist Party" Writing this description your humble bibliographer remembers being at this very same meeting at Columbia University when this meeting took place as part of the SWP defense of the right of the CP to speak. NCLC members attacked, not expecting the younger members of the SWP and its youth group, the YSA (of which I was a new member) to come to the defense of the CPUSA. We were able to escort Rasheed Story and a half dozen other CP members out through tunnels running under the meeting venue. Dozens were hurt in the ensuing milieu. The leaflet is a defense of the actions of NCLC after the entire left condemned them for Fascist thuggery.

A strong anti-Baraka piece by the chief-of-staff and other members of the NY wing of the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC), which began as a New Left group in 1968, but by the mid-1970s had shifted to the far right under the leadership of Lyndon H. LaRouche. The pieces, portions of which first appeared in New Solidarity, attribute the rise of fascism in Newark, NJ to Amiri Baraka, who is caricaturized as a hyena on the front cover, and whom they call a pimp on the CIA payroll. Contains an appendix titled "Why the CIA Often Succeeds," by Herman Golthier, Jr. Uncommon in commerce, with OCLC noting 15 holdings in the US.
