Julio Meinvielle (Buenos Aires on August 31, 1905 - August 2, 1973) was an Argentine fundamentalist priest and Thomist philosopher and critic of the Nazi regime for its attacks on Christianity and its pagan roots. In 1934 he participated in the creation of the Argentine Catholic Action. Based on his work at the Nuestra Señora de la Salud parish in the Versailles neighborhood of the city of Buenos Aires, he kicked off an initiative of parish youth camps, which was spread among other priesthood colleagues. Years later, he promoted the creation of the Union Scouts Católicos Argentinos (USCA), which elected him as its first secretary. On April 7, 1937, said scout association was recognized by Cardinal Santiago Luis Copello, primate bishop of Argentina, as a private association of the faithful of the Catholic Church. He was also one of the founders of the Ateneo Popular de Versailles, a club with a great sporting and social career, which he presided over until his death. Between 1943 and 1956 he was director of the magazines Nuestro Tiempo and Balcón. Washington Pereyra T4,p214. CodBos.
