This study of the Teesdale area, the most northern of the famed Yorkshire Downs, examines the region as it emerged from the rigours of WWII while also exploring its fascinating past and place in Britains history. Its 17 chapters include information on the dales and fells, the Tees River, lead-mining, significant towns, places and geographical features. 188 pages including bibliography, index, 18 b/w photos, four maps -- two fold out. Green hard covers VG with spine with gilt titles sunned. Nealy inked name top FFEP plus "Sheffield 1948" lower corner, both FEPs browned, more heavily at back. Text block otherwise excellent.
