Condition: Very Good ++. Jacket Condition: Very Good -. 1st Edition, 18.5 x 24.7 cm pictorial paper covered boards unpaginated [32] all with colour illustration by the author and accompanying text. In original price clipped dust jacket. The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean and bright with just a touch of shelfwear and minimal rubbing to the spine tips and corners. Internally clean, without name, inscription or bookplate and just the merest hint of toning to the free endpapers where the dust jacket does not reach. The dust jacket has a little rubbing with surface abrasion to the spine tips, corners and edges together with a closed tear measuring 5.5 cm on the rear panel although this is not apparent in the removable, clear cover (not shown) which now protects it. All in all a lovely first edition copy of this charmingly illustrated book. Jacket Condition: . An unpublished hand written story in three drafts, two on A4 lined paper [8] and [10] pp and one on [8]pp foolscap, each set tied with red wool, concerning the adventures of 3 Pekingese dogs accompanied by 18 original pen, ink and watercolour illustrations 26.7 x 16.5 cm in mounts measuring 42 x33 cm. Cam [1913-1984] wrote her first book Barbara Lamb in 1943 whilst in the Land Army and John Lane commissioned her to write six more; The Buttercup Fairy [1945], Margaret Fieldmouse [1946], Timothy Tabbycat [1947], Belinda Bear [1948], Bill Frog [1950], Bill Frog to the Rescue [1952]. Collins Then published 'Three Jolly Fishermen [1952], Three Jolly Clowns[1952] and Three Jolly Mountaineers. The story has various corrections in the author's hand, whilst a couple of the pages are dog eared and the wool has pulled through the holes punched on some pages. The illustrations are finely finished and in beautiful condition. A lovely item. Suite of 14 original pen, ink and watercolour drawings for "Three Jolly Friends". Mounted. Cam's early draft of what would later be published as The Three Jolly Boatmen. Comprising 4 full-page drawings (measuring 24 x 19 cms) and 10 double-page spreads (24 x 37 cms), a few with manuscript text in the author's hand below the illustration. Two illustrations with small adhesions where the artist has fixed redrawn items of clothing, then removed them. There are two different designs for the title page, both retaining the working title of Three Jolly Friends. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
