This work was a seminal influence on the introduction of Chinoiserie and Islamic decorative art to French artists and craftsmen. In 1863 the authors Eugène Collinot and Adalbert de Beaumont founded their own faience factory in the Bois de Boulogne, specializing in wares inspired by Persian and Iznik pottery.
