R.D. Getz II

R.D. Getz, II (Doug) has called the suburbs of Houston, Texas home for the majority of his life. He spent many years working as a high school Biology teacher and football coach. He later earned a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling which offered him a pathway to a new career. He now helps students who need extra support due to mental, emotional, and/or past traumatic challenges in their life. Doug began writing as a hobby in 2018 and continues to pursue his newfound passion. He enjoys writing sci-fi thrillers for adolescent to adults and has also written Christian books driven from his personal convictions and what he has learned from God's lessons of life. His desire is to follow Jesus Christ in loving, helping, and encouraging others as they travel their pathways of life.

Doug and his wife Shelly have been blessed with three children and eight grandchildren. Doug enjoys spending time with his best friend Shelly and having the family all together during the holiday seasons. He also enjoys pier and surf fishing on the Florida Gulf Coast when has the opportunity.
