Dr. Brian K. Watson is an author, pastor, educator, and leadership consultant with a passion for empowering people to impact their world. With more than 30 years of ministry experience, including 23 years as Senior Pastor of Gateway Community Church in Houston, Texas, he has dedicated his life to developing leaders, strengthening families, and building bridges across generations.
A lifelong Houstonian, Dr. Watson earned his Doctor of Ministry through Houston Graduate School of Theology at Kairos University, focusing on intergenerational leadership. He also holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling and a Master's in Religious Education from Liberty University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University.
Beyond the pulpit, Dr. Watson brings a wealth of experience in education and community service. He is certified to teach in four areas, has more than 12 years of teaching experience across elementary, middle, and high school levels, and previously served as a social worker.
As the founder of Empowered 4 Impact Coaching & Consulting, Dr. Watson helps churches, nonprofits, and organizations bridge generational divides, cultivate emerging leaders, and build stronger leadership pipelines. His book, Bridging the Gap: Developing the Next Generation of Leaders, reflects his conviction that lasting leadership is not simply about what we accomplish, but about who we empower to carry the vision forward.
Dr. Watson and his wife, Rolanda, have been married for more than 30 years and are the proud parents of a teenage son. When he's not teaching, writing, or developing leaders, he enjoys reading, music, movies, traveling, and sports.
His guiding philosophy is simple: "The future church is not the next generation—it's every generation working together."
