Writing has always been a gateway. A portal into a world where i could just be myself. Life wasn't always peachy growing up. It wasn't always Sunday dinners, and soundless nights Sometimes it involved yelling, fighting, and crying in a pillow. So one day, i picked up a pen, a piece of paper, and a long awaited need to let it all out. It started with a simple short poem, then a failed attempted novel, then the long path of writing the story of my past and present life, "Under-Neath the Willow Tree". This debut book took awhile, however in the process of writing it I got to meet a hidden me. The poet in me had years of silenced pain, and was ready to tell the world. "Under-Neath the Willow", even though had taken months of dead ends and writing, has been such a join to live. Its been even more of a joy to let the world live in the depths of the words of the book. I grew up in the Appalachian mountains, in the small forgotten town of Ashe County. My parents were not together for long after the birth of my sister, and when they were, it was its own hidden scary story for me to later find. Through my life I've been through many changes, heartbreaks, and teen terrifying events. I then realized i wasn't the only one. I wrote my book to let it all out, but to also help others understand that its okay for them to do it as well. Though this book focuses on my point of view, I'm very excited to venture into other peoples sides in my upcoming books.
