Robert Plunkett

About the Author

Robert Plunkett is an author, nationally recognized chess Master, and professional riverboat captain.

A lifelong strategist with a passion for science fiction, Robert brings his fascination with problem-solving, human behavior, and difficult decisions into his writing. His five-book Theo Vale series blends science fiction, superhero adventures, humor, and family dynamics, exploring what happens when ordinary family problems collide with extraordinary responsibilities.

Robert is also a National Master in chess, the author of Commanding the Chess Board, and the creator of the YouTube channel Robert Plunkett's Chess Lab, where he shares his enthusiasm for the game with players around the world.

When he isn't writing, playing chess, or navigating the Inland Waterways, Robert lives in Maryland with his wife and daughter.

For Robert, the most interesting question in storytelling isn't always whether someone has the power to save the world. It's what they choose to do afterward.
