John Eenigenburg is an attorney in Los Angeles. He has written numerous legal articles for U.S.-based Japanese magazines and published three works of fiction: The Dreams of Kim Kwang-Chul, a novel set in ancient and modern Korea, steeped in psychological complexity and ambiguity, with underlying themes of reincarnation, mysticism, and Buddhist philosophy; The Stones of Izu, a Japanese ghost story set in rural Japan, exploring love, death, and the supernatural through Shinto and Buddhist traditions; and a much shorter work, The Joy of Sisyphus, a philosophical reimagining of the myth of Sisyphus and reinterpretation of Albert Camus’ famous essay.
