His debut novel, Beloved Son, begins The Beloved Saga, a completed three-novel epic about family, belonging, courage, sacrifice, forgiveness, redemption and hope.

The saga was inspired in part by Mason's own journey. After growing up not knowing his biological father, an AncestryDNA test unexpectedly led him to the man he had never known—and to a relationship neither anticipated. His son, who has Phelan-McDermid syndrome, also inspired the character Esther Meridian, bringing awareness to the rare condition while allowing a person with special needs simply to belong within a larger adventure.

Mason lives in Arizona with his wife and children.
