Sheradun Strand

My Name is Sher (Sheradun) Strand. I am a proud Wife, Mother and Nana to 9 precious grandchildren. I write children's books that help kids talk about the hardest chapters of their lives — and the adults who love them, and find the words to help.

For years, I have served as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer, walking alongside children through homelessness, food insecurity, and foster care.

I didn't want to write books that talk about these kids — I wanted to write books that talk to them, and to the parents, foster families, teachers, and caseworkers trying to help them feel steady again. That's the idea behind the Steady Heart Series: stories for growing hearts, and tools for steadier days.

When I’m not writing, I do still do CASA work, which keeps my books grounded in what kids are actually going through right now, as well as serving on Non-Profit Boards and spending time traveling with my husband and family.
