Alan Mackenzie grew up in London's East End, in the shadow of the Royal Albert Docks. He studied Process Plant Engineering before beginning a forty-year career in the oil and gas industry as an Instrument Engineer, taking him across Europe, Russia, the Middle East and North Africa.
He has been writing fiction in one form or another since childhood, experimenting with different genres before settling on the kind of thrillers he most enjoys reading himself: stories driven by adventure, intrigue and the need to find out what happens next.
Now retired, Alan devotes much of his time to writing. His DOMINION Trilogy blends thriller, espionage and science fiction, beginning with Time's Up. When he's not writing, he's likely to be found on the golf course or pursuing his longstanding interests in travel and natural history photography.
