Vickie Brown

Vickie Brown is an author whose published poetry began with an invitation—and a challenge—to try something new.

Her first poetry appeared in the Overbrook Elementary School Book of Poems, a childhood collection later placed in the Smithsonian. Years later, another invitation brought her back to poetry: the challenge of expressing an idea in exactly 11 Words 9 Lines. Vickie stepped up, and her work was published in the international anthology 11 Words…9 Lines.

Beyond poetry, Vickie writes in other genres, with some of her work appearing under pen names. She is also developing a memoir that will share more of her own story. Her creative journey is a testament to what can happen when she accepts an invitation to venture beyond the familiar and put her words into the world.
