Mark D. Gillman

I am a professional fool and my mission is to become the world’s dumbest person. While the internet is full of competition, my goal is to lift everyone else up instead of trying to dig through the bottom of the barrel. My desire is to build a world full of titans instead of celebrating a few giants standing tall in a world forced to exist in miniature.

Misinformation spreads faster than facts and being loud counts more than being right.

Everyone can recite that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell but how many can question a statistic, evaluate a source, or recognize when data misleads?

My job is to ask obvious questions; the ones people skip out of embarrassment or because they are on autopilot. I want things to work and the world around me to grow instead of me trying to look like the smartest person in the room. In public service, someone or something has to act to break the status quo and I am willing to be that unreasonable voice.

I believe in the jack of all trades approach to life and collect skills and certifications like Pokemon. I have a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a PMP, a PMI-ACP, an MBA, and a BA in psychology. All combined, I have spent a lot of time and money learning that people are part of the process and apparently their feelings matter.

I survived being raised by television, spent four years in the Army, and the past fifteen years in state government focused on process improvement, project management and generally trying to make work suck a little less.

Business content is traditionally boring but it doesn’t have to be or at least that is my hypothesis I am currently testing. I will find out from your feedback and response. Progress is about imagining what’s possible and then figuring out how to get there.

Fingers crossed.
