Jason Trama

Jason Trama wrote Annin Street over many weekends at his mother’s kitchen table, asking about her childhood in South Philadelphia and her years in the count rooms of Atlantic City’s first casinos. He was raised on these stories. Writing the novel became a way of asking questions while asking was still possible.

Annin Street draws on family memory, with invented characters, scenes, and dialogue woven around remembered events. Trama is also the author of The Quiet. His fiction explores memory, belief, and the distance between what people experience and what they can explain. He holds a PhD in the biomedical sciences and lives in Cream Ridge, New Jersey.
