Melvin Wright

Dr. Melvin Wright, Th.D. has served as the pastor of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church of Knoxville, TN since March of 2007. He has been in ministry since 1996. His special areas of ministry concentration have been teaching, missions, counseling and community outreach. Between 2010 and 2025 he, participated in 18 foreign mission trips abroad. Other publications include a non-fiction Bible study of the Book of Acts which is, “A Church Without Walls” published in 2018. His observation of children being marginalized because of various things over which they have no control inspired him to being this series of books

Melvin Wright is the only son of Willie and Mary S. Wright. Since 1987, he has been married to his wife Deborah, also from Philadelphia. He has two children, and one granddaughter
