Fady Takla

Fady Takla is a pharmacist and the owner of an independent pharmacy in Orange County, California, where he has spent years watching human behavior refuse to explain itself.

The work sits at an unusual intersection. A prescription is precise: a name, a strength, a dose, a set of instructions. The person collecting it is not. They arrive worried about a child, exhausted from caring for a parent, frightened by a diagnosis they have not finished absorbing, or annoyed about a cost nobody at the counter can control. Running the business adds a second education — in leadership, mistakes, difficult conversations, repair, and the mysterious ability of office equipment to fail only when it senses fear.

He is the author of You're Human—Now What?, a funny, evidence-informed field guide to the machinery underneath everyday conflict. He did not write it because he had solved any of this. He wrote it because he kept getting people wrong, including himself, and wanted a guide that took human beings seriously without dividing them into the enlightened and the impossible.

He also writes fiction, including the crime novel The Last Honest Thief, the first of The Moretti Jobs, and The Jewel of San Clemente, the first California Mystery Club book for younger readers.

He lives in Orange County, California.
