Danny Boehle

Danny Boehle is a coach, entrepreneur, storyteller, and longtime member of the El Segundo community whose passion for baseball and the lessons it teaches inspired his first book, Second to None: A Coach’s Message of Love & Selflessness Propels Tiny El Segundo to a Dramatic Little League World Title.

Danny spent three years coaching El Segundo Little League, helping lead a remarkable group of young athletes to the 2023 Little League World Series championship in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. But for Danny, the journey was never just about winning baseball games. It was about building a family, teaching selflessness, creating lasting relationships, and showing young athletes that success is about something much bigger than the scoreboard.

Danny comes from the famous Lennon family, known nationally for the Lennon Sisters' appearances on The Lawrence Welk Show. Growing up around a family with such a rich history in entertainment, music, and performance gave Danny an appreciation for storytelling and the power of bringing people together—values that are reflected throughout Second to None.

Those experiences became the foundation for Second to None, co-authored with Dan Coonan. The book tells the story behind El Segundo's unforgettable championship run and the people, relationships, sacrifices, and values that made the journey so special.

A lifelong Southern California sports enthusiast, Danny grew up in Venice Beach, attended St. Bernard High School, and later attended Santa Barbara City College and Long Beach State. He has been involved in baseball and volleyball as a player, coach, and mentor throughout his life.

Danny also spent two decades as a co-owner of Fonz's Manhattan Beach, while remaining deeply involved in the South Bay community.

Today, Danny continues to coach and mentor young athletes, including coaching baseball at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. He also continues to share the lessons he learned through coaching and the El Segundo Little League journey, with the hope that the story of Second to None inspires coaches, parents, athletes, and anyone who believes that how you win—and who you become along the way—matters more than the trophy itself.
