jason wren is a Toronto-based artist, creative director, cartoonist, comedian, musician, and storyteller who has spent more than 20 years making things for a living, and occasionally figuring out what they are afterward. His career in advertising and design has taken him from drawing and art direction to leading major national campaigns, while his life outside advertising has been filled with painting, cartoons, stand-up comedy, music, children’s stories, and an ever-growing collection of unusual ideas.His children’s work is driven by curiosity, humour, friendship, imagination, and the belief that being a little different usually makes for a better story. He creates characters and worlds that are funny, warm, slightly odd, and meant to be enjoyed by kids and the grown-ups reading alongside them. When he isn’t writing, drawing, designing, performing, or making music, jason can usually be found aboard his boat in Toronto, dreaming up whatever comes next.
