Daniel M. Comito is a novelist and essayist, author of Induction, the first volume of the fantasy trilogy Above and Below, The Chiron Collection, and The Academy of the Wanderer.
His fiction and essays explore the meeting place of imagination, philosophy, friendship, and myth. Drawing on classical antiquity, Eastern wisdom traditions, and the rich currents of Western esotericism, his work seeks to recover a participatory vision of the world in which the ordinary and the marvelous meet.
Born and raised in the verdant Pacific Northwest, Daniel remains an enthusiastic student of literature, history, and the hidden history of ideas. When he is not writing, he can be found mountain biking, rock climbing, practicing Taoist arts, reading Tarot, or speaking Italian. He has worked as a cardiac RN for more than twenty years and lives with his wife in Seattle.
