Christopher J. Melhorn

Christopher J. Melhorn is an electrical engineer, entrepreneur, private pilot, outdoorsman, and author with a lifelong passion for exploration. The son of a Coast Guardsman, Chris moved frequently as a child, inspiring an early curiosity about the world. He later became an Eagle Scout, developing a love of the outdoors, leadership, and self-reliance. His engineering career has taken him across four continents and more than 15 countries, solving problems for electric utilities worldwide. An avid hunter, backpacker, and camper, Chris has explored the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, the Great Smoky Mountains, Alaska, and Hawaii. He has authored numerous technical papers and contributed to technical books. More recently, inspired by his grandchildren, he began writing children's books, combining imagination, family experiences, and lessons from a lifetime of adventure. For Chris, every journey is an opportunity to learn, explore, and create a new story.
