Louise Shellis is an AuDHD author, small-business owner and professional collector of hobbies, unfinished projects, children and a frankly ridiculous number of pets.
Her writing career began in the least conventional way possible: keeping a diary for her son while he was in a coma, so he could one day read the parts he had missed. Somewhere between the fear, exhaustion and relentless need to make unbearable things slightly funnier, Louise discovered she had a voice.
Apparently her trauma response is sarcasm.
Her friends discovered this too and, in a spectacular failure of responsible supervision, repeatedly encouraged her to write a book.
The Voronov Trilogy grew from Louise’s determination to take familiar tropes and do something less predictable with them. She wanted the danger, romance, morally questionable characters and terrible decisions, but without an ending readers could accurately guess before everyone had finished introducing themselves.
She writes dark, sarcastic novels containing romance, mystery, sex, murder, consequences and people who would benefit enormously from therapy but are far too busy creating plot.
When she is not writing, Louise can usually be found drinking irresponsible amounts of coffee, running her small business, managing the aforementioned children and pets, or beginning another project before the previous one has stopped smoking.
Having finished attacking one set of tropes, she is already working on the next.
Nobody has attempted to stop her.
Sensible, really.
