John Maxwell Blake

John Maxwell Blake is an American writer focused on emotional regulation, overthinking, habit change, and behavioral science. He's not a therapist or a psychologist—and he'd be the first to tell you that. What he does bring is two decades of studying the research, trying the ideas in everyday life, and keeping only the ones that still work when life gets messy.

Most of the methods in his books were tested long before they were ever written down—during stressful mornings, difficult conversations, restless nights, and countless ordinary moments when theory alone wasn't enough. The techniques that didn't hold up were left behind. The ones that did became the foundation of his work.

John writes for adults with busy, complicated lives who don't need more information—they need practical tools they can use in the moment, whether they're caught in an overthinking spiral, facing a difficult conversation, or trying to regain control after an emotionally overwhelming day.

He is the author of The Inner Strength Series, including The Self-Help System for Emotional Regulation, The Overthinking Loop, How to Love Yourself, and their companion workbooks.

When he isn't writing, you'll usually find him outdoors—walking a trail, sitting in a quiet park with a notebook, or deliberately leaving his phone in his pocket for a while. He believes that the best ideas are often discovered away from a screen—and that the simplest practices are usually the ones we return to when life becomes difficult.
