Ellen Freifeld

Ellen Freifeld is an author and award-winning multimedia executive producer. She holds a degree in Journalism and Strategic Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has spent her career creating engaging stories across digital, experiential, interactive, and multimedia platforms.

Inspired by her son’s fascination with landscaping equipment and outdoor work, Ellen wrote Leo the Landscaper: It's Lawn Mowing Day! to fill a gap she discovered in children's literature. After years of reading landscaping catalogs, lawn care magazines, and homemade stories with her son, she created a picture book celebrating kids with a passion for landscaping. Her stories celebrate curiosity, teamwork, family, and the joy of helping.
