Travis Cook

Travis J. Cook is a lifelong Baltimore resident with a stubborn belief that the classics still have something urgent to say — they just need updating. A graduate of Baltimore City College and Towson University, two institutions he considers pillars of Maryland education, Travis brings a disciplined, ever-curious mind to everything he writes. His debut novel, Aurelia: What Remains of Dorian Gray, reimagines Oscar Wilde's gothic masterpiece for the influencer age: the portrait in the attic becomes an AI quietly assembled from the emotional data its subject was never supposed to keep. It's the opening chapter of Reimagined Classics, a series devoted to asking what literature's darkest warnings look like when technology, not magic, is doing the corrupting. When he's not writing, Travis is usually deep in an audiobook, sharpening his technical skills in IT, or untangling the fine print of a good financial plan. He lives in Baltimore with his wife, Terri, and their two cats, Muffin and Biscuit.
