Michael Lovell

Michael Lovell, a storyteller who writes fantasy for the joy of wandering strange worlds and dark fiction when the only way through something is to put it on the page.

He would rather not write about himself. He tells stories instead: tales meant to carry emotion, not just plot, and to leave a reader somewhere they weren’t when they started. His work includes Brother’s War: Kingdoms Shattered and Sisters. Earlier dark fiction found a home in the anthology Bound for Evil, alongside names like H.P. Lovecraft and Ramsey Campbell.

His influences run from Tolkien, Salvatore, Hickman, and Piers Anthony to Lovecraft and Jack L. Chalker.
