Janet Ropp

Janet Ropp is an author, speaker, and grief recovery coach whose life was forever changed after the loss of her 19-year-old son, James, to addiction in 2018.

Like many parents navigating unimaginable loss, Janet searched for answers, healing, and a way to keep moving forward while carrying a heart that would never be the same. Through years of personal growth, education, and inner healing, she discovered that grief doesn't end, but it can be carried with greater peace, purpose, and hope.

Janet holds a bachelor's degree in Human Services from Sam Houston State University and is a certified Grief Recovery Specialist and Spiritual Life Coach. For more than two decades, she has also worked as an Endoscopy Technician, giving her a unique perspective on caring for people during some of life's most vulnerable moments.

Her first book, Dear James, is an intimate collection of letters, memories, and reflections written to her son throughout her grief journey. It is a story of profound love, heartbreaking loss, and the resilience of the human spirit. Janet hopes readers will feel seen, understood, and reminded that even in life's darkest seasons, healing is possible.

Janet lives in Texas with her husband, Shane, where she enjoys gardening, organizing, writing, and spending time in nature. She is passionate about helping others find hope after loss and believes that while grief changes us forever, love continues to connect us in lasting and meaningful ways.

"If one grieving heart feels a little less alone after reading Dear James, then sharing James' story has been worth every word."
