A first-time author from Yorkshire I started my book writing journey by telling the incredible tale of my cat Gerry.

Gerry was found on an oil installation in the middle of the Caspian Sea - a land-locked area between Kazakhstan to the North, and Azerbaijan to the West.

No-one really knows how Gerry got where he did or even how long he was there, but however he got where he did, it must have been by an amazing feat of fearless adventure. This story was too crazy to not tell the world about so here I am.

I have written about Gerry's life as a tale of fiction and conjecture as we will never know how Gerry got to an oil installation in the Caspian sea but by creating a story of what might have happened we can all share his spirit of adventure and my determination to bring him to a home in the green hills of Yorkshire where he became the most gorgeous spoilt cat with a kooky personality to match.
