Rod “Papa” Bennett is the Wizard of Owl Cottage and the author of old-fashioned fairy tales written first for his grandchildren—and now for young readers everywhere.

With a degree in botany and a lifelong love of the natural world, Rod fills his stories with enchanted woods, curious creatures, quiet wisdom, and the kind of magic that may be waiting just beyond the garden gate. When he is not writing, he enjoys exploring technology in all its myriad forms, baking bread, and spending time with his family.

Rod lives at Owl Cottage in the American Midwest with his wife, Catherine.
