Dr. Darin Stokke is a Doctor of Chiropractic with three decades of clinical experience and one of the original founders of Lifestyles Healthcare Group in Fort Myers, Florida — a membership-driven practice built on a single conviction: that the best healthcare is proactive, relationship-based, and never dictated by what an insurance company is willing to authorize.
His path into chiropractic began not in a classroom but on a football field. A severe neck injury in his senior year of high school led to a year of unresolved migraines, digestive chaos, and disrupted sleep that conventional medicine couldn't explain or fix. A last-resort visit to a chiropractor changed everything. Within weeks, the migraines lifted, the fog cleared, and Dr. Stokke knew exactly what he was going to do with his life.
Since graduating from chiropractic school in 1996, he has built a practice rooted in a philosophy that runs counter to the dominant model of American healthcare: that the body is designed to heal, perform, and thrive at every decade of life — not just survive them. He co-founded Lifestyles Healthcare Group alongside his good friend Dr. Todd Wickmann with that philosophy at its core, and has spent thirty years watching it transform the lives of patients who had been told their decline was simply inevitable.
Dr. Stokke has had the privilege of working alongside the training and medical staff of the Minnesota Twins organization during spring training — an experience that deepened his understanding of proactive, performance-driven healthcare and confirmed what he had long believed: the standard of care given to elite athletes is the standard every person deserves.
At 60, Dr. Stokke is living proof of the philosophy he teaches. Stronger, clearer, and more purposeful than he was at 35, he practices what he prescribes — investing daily across the five dimensions of fitness that form the backbone of this book: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Emotional, and Relational.
He lives and practices in Southwest Florida. He is an active member of his faith and recovery communities and finds his deepest motivation in the patients who walk through his door ready to stop managing their decline and start building their best decades.
The Well-Adjusted Life is his first book.
