Sameer Mehta MD

Sameer Mehta, MD, FACC, MBA, is a U.S. interventional cardiologist recognized for pioneering primary angioplasty and advancing STEMI interventions. He has helped develop heart attack programs across Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.

As Chairman of the Lumen Foundation and Course Director of Lumen Global, Dr. Mehta has led international efforts to improve STEMI care, reduce delays, and expand access to urgent cardiovascular treatment through telemedicine.

A prolific author and multidisciplinary thought leader, Dr. Mehta has written 29 books on cardiology, artificial intelligence, and environmental cardiology. His work bridges clinical practice, research, innovation, and education, with a focus on integrating environmental health into cardiovascular prevention. By highlighting air pollution, climate-related exposures, and other environmental determinants of heart disease, he has played a leading role in defining and expanding environmental cardiology.
