Cindy Holmes is an Australian author, educator and community advocate with more than 20 years' experience designing and delivering community programs focused on employment, education, health and family wellbeing.
Throughout her career, Cindy has been passionate about creating practical community and educational programs, courses and resources that empower children, young people and families. From anti-bullying campaigns and school support initiatives to health and wellbeing education, her work has always centred on helping people navigate life's challenges with confidence, compassion and resilience.
After stepping away from full-time community work to spend more time with her family, Cindy was inspired by her granddaughter, Willow, to found Purple Fox Publishing as a way to support not only Willow, but girls and their families everywhere through honest, compassionate and beautifully designed educational resources.
Working alongside her granddaughter and co-creator, Willow, Cindy combines professional knowledge with genuine tween perspectives to create books that feel authentic, relatable and empowering. Their collaborative approach ensures each resource is shaped not only by years of experience, but also by the real questions, thoughts and experiences of young people themselves.
With the publication of A Tween Girl's Guide to the Mysteries of Puberty, the release of Stronger Inside, the upcoming Girl Dad's Field Guide to Puberty, and the development of Purple Fox's Girl Talk workshops, Cindy is building a trusted foundation of books, workshops and educational resources that support girls—and the families who walk beside them—as they navigate the journey of growing up with confidence, compassion and inner strength.
Whether writing about puberty, emotional wellbeing or personal growth, Cindy's goal remains the same:
To create compassionate, engaging resources that help children, parents and educators build confidence, strengthen relationships and discover the strength that's already inside them.
Together, Cindy and Willow combine professional experience with real-life tween perspectives, ensuring every Purple Fox resource is both evidence-informed and genuinely relatable to the girls and families it is created to support.
