Born in Hawaii into a military family, Leilani traveled to many countries and states as an Air Force Brat. She and her husband John have been married 50 years and now live in Texas, with their ten grown children, 30 grandchildren, and 3 great-grands adding love and adventures to life. YaYa, as she is known to the grandchildren, found a creative and heartfelt way to preserve her legacy. Instead of making quilts to pass down, she writes adventure stories, inserting her grandchildren as the storybook heroes. She enjoys using as many of their pictures and artwork in her books as she can.
